HOW TO REACH
You can reach Samalbong from NJP Railway station or Bagdogra airport if you are coming via West Bengal. It is around 80 KM from Siliguri and takes around 3 - 4 hours through the beautiful picturesque road. It is around 30 KM from Kalimpong town and takes around 1 - 1.5 hour to reach here by car.
You can take shared vehicle from NJP till Kalimpong. From Ravangla it is around 20 km and shared occational shared jeep is available. which takes nearly 1 hour to reach Samalbong. Or you can take a cab directly from NJP/Bagdogra to Samalbong which takes around 3 - 4 hours through some beautiful picturesque mountain villages.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
You can visit Samalbong any time of the year though during monsoon occational landslides are happen on the way which will make your journey little longer. During October to March, the travelers can see amazing view of snow-capped Himalayas from Samalbong as well as the River Teesta is clearly visible from Samalbong.
